For the Love of Chocolate Foundation awards scholarships to students in the full-time programs taught by The French Pastry School of Kennedy-King College at City Colleges of Chicago, promoting commitment in pastry arts education for individuals looking to change careers, as well as individuals who have shown potential in the culinary field but have no formal pastry education.

The French Pastry School
The French Pastry School at the City Colleges of Chicago is a culinary institute dedicated solely to the art of pastry. The school was co-founded in 1995 by internationally acclaimed Master Chefs Jacquy Pfeiffer and Sebastien Canonne, M.O.F., who teach the school's six-month L'Art de la Patisserie program along with a roster of award-winning Chef Instructors. Offering the finest pastry training in the United States, the school produces the best-prepared chefs entering the profession. The foundation of instruction is the European artist-apprentice teaching model, which employs constant exposure to master chefs, hands-on training and the use of the finest tools and ingredients.

Shon Roka
Shon Roka, pronounced Shon (Shaun) Roka (Roca) aka Shaun Ortega is a Professional DJ and Break-dancer from Chicago, Illinois. His career began 20+ years ago spinning at local neighborhood bars and parties. From there he gained experience and met other Djs with whom he started a party crew call 2DH (2 Damn Hype). He has spun at private parties, special events, concerts, cafes, and breakdancing battles, all both local and out of town. Currently he provides beats for Chicago as a resident DJ at Tabu & Cats Meow, (former resident of Cozmo's, Lava Lounge) but randomly doing places like Funky Buddha, Lava Lounge, Sub-T’s, V.I.P. Hall, El Sitio, Artistic Jeanius, Tarbar, & El Patron and with his own remixed songs. DJ Shon Roka also is host and DJ of an internet radio show called “Bassment Radio” on www.streetflavaradio.com (Hip Hop Section). Chat live with the host and DJs, When he is not working he is expanding his music collection and his skills

Anacron
Anacron is the personification of Hip Hop; a passionate rapper, singer, producer, DJ, musician, breakdancer, and performer. This veteran of Los Angeles’ flourishing independent rap scene is known among elite circles of Hip Hop aficionados for his extensive solo career, and landmark collaborations with icons at multiple industry levels. After 15 years of preferred industry anonymity, recent projects and recognitions have solidified his worth as more than just an underground rapper. The year 2011 will mark the start of Anacron’s long-deserved journey to the forefront of the eclectic hip hop scene, and he is ready to show and prove, and claim this decade as his own.

Beena Davis
Beena David is an effervescent, Indian mezzo-soprano who is a proud native of Chicago, Illinois. Musically speaking, she has been featured as the mezzo-soprano soloist for local orchestras, and has been thrilled to be an active member of Chicago's classical music scene. Present and past affiliations include the Chicago Symphony Chorus, Grant Park Music Festival, the Lira Ensemble, VOX 3 Collective, and various local opera productions. She is also very proud to be a part of the rich musical tradition at Fourth Presbyterian Church in Chicago. Overseas, she was a Young Artist with La Musica Lirica in Italy, and sang as the mezzo-soprano soloist in Dvorák's Mass in D Major with the Coro Filarmonico di Pesaro. It's not all hard-core classical though! You can also find Beena performing various sporting events, having sung the national anthem for the Chicago Bears, Chicago Bulls, Chicago Rush, and Chicago Fire. Other dabblings include various on-camera appearances, training in improv comedy, Bhangra* student and enthusiast, and volunteering for the Lincoln Park Community Shelter.
